Run Barbados Series
10k on saturday and a 1/2 marathon the following sunday, am i crazy? no this is what most runners do at the run barbados series. my goal was to run a good 10k and on the morrow to tackle the 1/2. well things went pretty good for me for i was able to secure a 5th place in the 10k and 3rd in the 1/2 Marathon.
the 10k was what i really wanted to do well in but my first km felt like crap and i thought about dropping out a million times , and that was only the first KM. i dugged ideep and stayed in the race only to realize that by 3k i was felling pretty good, by that time i was in 6th running with my friend Cleveland and a guy from America. we stayed together till 1k to go when my self and Cleveland took off on the American, sad to say i lost to Cleveland in a sprint and that's the second time this year.time 31:17 for 5th.
the following morning i jumped into the 1/2 marathon and stayed with the leader till 8k when i decided to increase the pace, things got a bit ugly when one Kenyan took off on me and a bit later heading down a hill, the Canadian and the other Kenyan tookoff on me. i remained calm and slowly worked my way towards town, caught the Kenyan with 5k to go but the canadian was too far ahead. 3rd place and a time of 1:09.23 after a hard 10k felt pretty good.. so all in all it was a pretty good weekend for the Zman.
my training buddy Marinus stephen tackled the marathon and by the looks of things he did pretty well coming in 5th. i must say i was pretty happy for him for i know he gave it his all. big up to you skelly.

That's some good time there. Sorry to say your 10K time was faster than my 5K time but I was running for fun. I can't even talk about place with over 10,000 people in the race.
Good Job!! both you and Skelly

Hi Zeph,
Congrats for yet another good run in the Rn Barbados Series. Keep up the good work and we look forward to seeing again in 2009.
