Rubbish everywhere
Yesterday afternoon I went over to Wenn playing field for a workout. When I got there the signs of the past weekend event was all over the place. Rubbish here, rubbish there, rubbish everywhere. My question is, Who's responsible for the cleaning of the field? Is it the vendors who sells the products? Is it the consumers who buys the products? Is it the sports council who allows such event to be hosted on our field? One thing for sure, the area in question needs to be clean and kept clean. We can't allow our only recreational area to be in such a mess. The waste managment auth, demands that before such an event, a proper waste disposal plan must be in place but yet still those rules are never enforced. We are a society of talk not action. Blah, blah, blah but never any action. This needs to be changed and rules enforced. Now that the field is in a mess, I'm calling on vendors, fans, comm member, club member to do their best to keep our field clean. Vendors need to provide bags or bins so that people can dispose of their rubbish. The council needs to place bins around the field while at the same time seeing to it that the rubbish is collected on collection days. The council also need to develop a proper waste disposal plan for we can't allow our only field to be in such a mess. Community members and visitor can and should play their part by placing their rubbish in the provided bins( after the council puts them up). Let's keep our community and field clean cause we all know and see the effect of a dirty community, afterall walking the streets of Mopo one can see plastic bottles and bags all over the place. Come on people we can do better.
Mopo must unite in the fight against littering.
On a blackheart note, should our Mopo team be made up of skillful players who think they are bigger than the game or a team of committed player who will paint a better picture of our community when they are out there representing Mopo? The community can't allow individuals who show no regards for teammembers/ coaches or even themselves to represent us. We need to put our feet down when it comes to team selection no matter what sport. If you feel you are bigger than the game and you can do whatever and insult other with no regards for authority, such and individual should be left home. I would much rather travel to VF and support a team the listens than a team of vagabonds. Let's see what directions management will take with this years team.

We the members of the Mon Repos Football Committee take full responsibility for our part in the state of the field presently with regards to garbage collection at the field or. We will do our best to ensure that future events do have a proper waste disposal plan.
Also we are glad that you made your comment concerning the BlackHeart football team and any Mon Repos team for that matter. This is a problem that we have started to see more and more in the past few years in that players feel that they are bigger than the team. We know too that when measures are taken and some players are dropped from the team some supporters will feel us unfair and partial but we will do what we have to do nonetheless. The team has moved from one with a majority of positive and talented players ( the likes of ' Delor ', ' Heron ', ' Lindy ', ' Blode ' etc ) far dominating the few negative ones to one where the negativity is finally starting to outweigh the strong positive past.
What we can do now is go back to the drawing board after this Blackheart competition and focus our efforts on building a TEAM, not just in name but also in behavior and character. We also need to do our utmost to ensure that some of these bad habbits (lack of respect for each other, refusal to warm up and cool down as a team etc) that we see cropping up in our senior team are cut out of our youth players very early.
whenever the clean up campaign is held you guys can give me a buzz. if i'm on island i will surely come help, afterall the football comm is doing it's best to put mopo on the football map.
