Ma George of La Haut/ Lumbard passed away during the second week of September 2006. She was affectionately known as "Are-Jah-Blea" and "Rap-To-Me". She represented the "working class" in our society, having had to depend on an agricultural plot and on daily paid wages with little or no social security income in her latter days. In earlier times she participated in "La Rose". She was a fearless and opinionated person whose primary means of communication was via the creole language. We note the passing of Ma George.

Gerald Daniel was born on March 10th, 1923 and died May 29th 2006. His funeral service took place at the St. Peter's Church in Dennery on Wednesday June 7th 2006. He was born in Mon Repos but lived most of his adult life in Dennery. That he produced Alex, Delia, David, Helen, Melania, Christie and Sheilton is testimony to the legacy that he has left behind. He may not have been known by the younger generation of Mon Repos, but his children and wife Agnes certainly made the connection. We take the opportunity to extend condolences to all the bereaved.
For a teenager, she had comanding presence, and that is probably the reason why she featured so prominently through the lens of of camera before her passing. Yania was literally and figuratively "head and shoulders" above her peers. I remember Yania being one of the few volunteers who consistently attended the important preparatory meetings for the 2006 Piton Malta Road Relay. It was her first assignment with the Mon Repos Youth and Sports Council. At the Road Relay which took place on Sunday 18th February 2006, she accepted the mike and the honour, and offered prayers for a safe and incident free event. So sad to see a fine young lady cut off in the prime of her life. Perhaps we have been deprived of a treasure trove.
He was the open-batsman for Grass Street Sports Club and Mon Repos and served as a useful wicket keeper to both. At the time of his death he was on the squad named to represent Mon Repos in the 2006 Viva Limited Overs Competition. Davy Thomas was an employee of the St. Lucia Electricity Services (LUCELEC) where he worked at their Vieux Fort office. He was the son of Uloge/Spade a well known tailor of Patience and Pamela. His siblings include, Yvonne, Chantal, Suzette, Suzanne, Melvin and Sadia. Davy was actually born in Balca but was raised up in Patience in his early days, by Spade and Dora. He attended the Mon Repos Combined School and the Vieux Fort Secondary. He was 23-24 years old.
The President, Executive and affiliates of the Mon Repos Youth and Sports Council extend sincere condolences to the family and relatives of Davy Thomas.
Irene "E-Wenn" Serieux of St. Marie, Patiece passed away on Sunday 14 May 2006 - a month shy of her 103rd birthday anniversary. The average person does not live to this ripe age and many of us will only know a few centenarians in our entire lifetime. "E-Wenn" was a mother to eight children. Three generations later would indicate the number of children, grandchildren and great grand children whose lives she would have touched, especially in Patience and Lumbard communities. We extend condolences to all.
We note the passing of Joseph Albert Fevrier, affectionately known as Son, of Mon Repos. He lived with his family along the Mon Repos Main Road, at the corner of Grass Street and would have been known by most persons who attended the Mon Repos Combined School or worshiped at any of the two churches. We wish to extend condolences to his wife Floor, children - Coletta, Rosella, Mc Lean, Marcos, the extended Fevrier, Peter and President families as well as the farming community of Mon Repos.
